AD Consulting for the Pharma-Server project

The “PHARMA-SAVER – Design and development of a predictive technological platform for the procurement and distribution of pharmaceutical products and medicines” project, funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU, aims to address inefficiencies across the entire pharmaceutical supply chain through the development of a predictive technological platform for pharmaceutical supply management. It integrates algorithmic solutions based on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning via neural networks, interoperability solutions among heterogeneous databases, and Big Data analytics. The solution proposed by AD CONSULTING S.P.A. will bring undeniable added value to all stakeholders in the pharma supply chain, from manufacturers to distribution facilities, and ultimately to customers and patients.
AD Consulting aims to design and develop a modular and flexible management system based on predictive computing techniques using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, conceived to be easily integrated into the procurement, management, and sales processes of pharmaceutical products within healthcare organizations. In detail, the project plan is structured into the following actions:
STUDY OF ARCHITECTURES, MODELS, AND TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS FOR THE INTEROPERABILITY OF INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL DATABASES IN THE PHARMA SUPPLY CHAIN PROCESS. This activity aims to design the software architecture to integrate Big Data storage from the pharmaceutical supply chain and from other potentially relevant application domains into a Data Lake, enabling the development of a data-driven culture in the procurement process.
STUDY OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ALGORITHMS TO IMPLEMENT PREDICTIVE ANALYTICS FUNCTIONS IN SUPPORT OF THE DRUG PROCUREMENT PROCESS. This activity involves the study of Artificial Intelligence algorithms to forecast the types of medicines to be purchased and their quantities, based on external factors, as well as the development of proactive AI algorithms capable of detecting anomalies in the supplier network and, in the future, suggesting alternative suppliers and solutions in order to maintain a stable production and supply chain in the market.
PROTOTYPING OF A DEMONSTRATOR AND EXPERIMENTAL VALIDATION OF THE IMPLEMENTED VERSION ON THE AD CONSULTING PLATFORM. This activity is aimed at carrying out experimental characterization to finalize the implementation of the final prototype solutions and to perform the experimental validation of the AD CONSULTING S.P.A. platform in its integrated prototype version.
The project has total costs of €109,750.00 and is funded by a European contribution of €44,812.50.
