Video surveillance to study and protect the fauna of the Po Delta Park.
To allow researchers and enthusiasts to observe the Punta Alberete area and its unspoiled nature, a video surveillance system was implemented. The project was developed by Acantho in collaboration with AD Consulting, which handled its implementation and maintenance.

Researchers and enthusiasts can watch live footage from PCs located at any of the Park’s information centres, or via PCs, smartphones, and tablets with a standard internet connection.
The system is self-powered through solar energy, thanks to photovoltaic panels, while the signal is transmitted via a GSM modem that communicates with Acantho’s data center.**
The camera avoids disturbing the animals in the area, respecting the environmental and landscape constraints that prohibit human access.

The camera can be remotely controlled, with the ability to rotate in all directions and zoom in on scenes of greatest interest; movement allows horizontal panning (left and right), vertical tilting (up and down), and zooming to control the lens focus.
Two solar panels are connected to a battery charger with remote access for status monitoring. The system is also equipped with twilight sensors that control its automatic switching on and off.
